The Muskrat Files is satire about a sleep-deprived rodent who has promised you the future and will be delivering it shortly.

Used to be a blue bird. Is now a black letter. He is still explaining why this was necessary, at length, usually at 3am.

The Platform was, at one point, a bird. It is now a letter. The reasons for the change have been given many times, at length, in voice notes sent at volume, and no two explanations have fully agreed with each other — which he treats as the platform simply containing multitudes, the same way he does.
"Free speech" comes up constantly, in the way that the promises board comes up constantly: as the header on something that keeps recalculating itself underneath. He bought the Platform, then, by his own account, briefly forgot why. He has since remembered, several times, with several different reasons, all delivered with the same total conviction he uses for Mars.
The Platform is also where the rest of this dashboard is supposed to live one day — the 3AM Meme, the Timeline Update, the Baby Announcement, the Company Flex — once a handle exists to post them from. Until then, the Platform remains the subject of its own file rather than the place carrying the file, which is exactly the kind of situation he would call a strategic realignment if you pointed it out to him.
He is, notably, one of its most devoted users, in the sense that a man can be devoted to a building he owns and sleeps in the lobby of. The Believers quote him from it. The Short Sellers quote him from it too, usually the same post, captioned differently. Both are, in his telling, proof the Platform is working exactly as intended.

none of that exists for an invented rodent's invented platform.
